OUP Teacher Training … 21-24 August 2006

21-24 August 2006 – Singlish to finish things off …

Throughout the four days of the training the usual group of well qualified, well prepared and interesting speakers maintained the very high standards set by Oxford University Press.

The free training covered topics of interest to teachers of all ages and provided much useful insight into new examinations, publications with a great deal of very practical help.

‘Singlish’ with Steve Jones again proved to be a popular session at the end of the training and the combination of this and the raffle ensured a lively end to the event.

A feature of the session was the introduction to the participating teachers of the Robert Burns International Foundation of which Steve is General Secretary. OUP are major supporters. www.rbif.org

A particular promotion was the Oxford Angol Nyelvtan (Norman Coe, Mark Harrison, Ken Patterson) – a new grammar – copies of which are now available from the OUP bookshop. The explanations in Hungarian are a huge bonus for Hungarian learners and everyone would be well advised to arm themselves with a copy.
