Walk in the Woods

Guiding in the Buda Hills

A group from a Zuglo school enjoys a spring outing in winter weather.

Steve Jones is a regular sight in the Buda Hills where he walks daily. In all conditions you can find him trecking over Harshegy, Janos hegy and the smaller hills in the Huvosvolgy area as far as Budaors, Szepvolgy, Budakeszi.

Steve was a teacher in the UK for 30 years and was often seen in England, Scotland and Wales leading groups in the hills and mountains. He is happy to join others who also wish to enjoy the hills and introduce their students to the pleasure of walking.

The joys of walking are free to all and Steve is happy to guide groups of teachers and students in the area. In general the best starting points are Huvosvolgy (terminus of the 61 tram) and Szepjuhaszne (Bus 22). Walks can range between gentle rambles lasting an hour on good roads in good conditions to 6 hour ‘marathons’ on rough tracks deep into the forest.

As Steve walks every day, 7 days a week, for at least 2 hours, there will never be a time when he is unavailable. Steve is based in Huvosvolgy and asks you to make contact by email – steve@singlish.hu or by phone on +36 70 941 1913
